El Paso Police Public Safety Cadets Program
The City of El Paso Police Public Safety Cadets (PSC) Program is part of a national, non-profit initiative created and guided by active and retired law enforcement professionals, along with business and community leaders. This innovative program is designed to inspire and prepare young adults, ages 14 to 20 (until their 21st birthday), for future careers and leadership roles in the public safety profession.
PSC gives youth a first-hand, immersive look into law enforcement and other public safety careers. Through training sessions, real-world scenarios, and mentorship from dedicated public safety personnel, cadets gain practical knowledge and a strong foundation for a successful future. Participants learn the purpose, mission, and responsibilities of police officers and other law enforcement partners, while exploring career paths that align with their interests and strengths.
More importantly, the Public Safety Cadets Program empowers young adults to become strong leaders, responsible citizens, and engaged members of our community and nation. Cadets grow their confidence, build character, and develop skills that will benefit them both personally and professionally, whether or not they ultimately choose a career in law enforcement.
